THE STORY
Hi, my name is Guy Sherman. I’ve been making music for a bunch of years: songs and instrumentals, pop/rock, electronic, experimental compositions, song parodies, incidental music for other people’s projects, as well as original music and cover versions for dozens of Off-Broadway shows. I’ve assembled collections of my music in the past, and given out hundreds of my albums to family, friends and colleagues on CD, and before that, on cassette tape. But this will be my first time trying to sell my music and to market it properly.
“Yule Hear What I Hear” could be regarded as my first “real” album, and as it gets closer to completion, it’s a body of work of which I’m very proud. My music-making process and sensibilities have evolved, and I’m moving up to the next level. This is the most listenable set of songs I’ve ever done…. not to mention upbeat, uplifting, eclectic and warmly familiar.
Yes, it’s a Christmas album! This is music for people who love Christmas songs, but also for those who don’t. It’s filled with happy energy and brightness. A feel-good album for the holidays! It’s whimsical, but it also has its serious moments.
This is the most ambitious project I’ve ever done.

SEEKING YOUR HELP In order to get the album manufactured and promoted I’m on GoFundMe, to raise $3,000. I’ll need to take care of licensing for nine of the songs (Here Comes Santa Claus, Do You Hear What I Hear?, and Jingle Bell Rock, for example, are not in the Public Domain). There are royalties, mastering, replication, artwork, promotional and mailing costs. I want to be able to get my CD to the Media by early October for some reviews. So I’m reaching out to the community because I believe in this album.
